move

No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible. Voltaire

Cars move America, a network of roads and highways crisscrossing the country, connecting communities, and allowing human mobility like never before.  This freedom of travel is truly revolutionary but it does not come without a price.  Automobiles are a leading cause of air pollution in the United States, one third of all overall greenhouse gas emissions in the US is produced by cars, as stated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Growing up in Southern California, where the car is elevated to an appendage driving has become a critical portion our lives.  From the indolent journey of a couple blocks to the grocery store, to that three hundred and eighty something mile adventure to San Francisco driving has had a hold on the Californian economy since the 50’s.

In an environment where the automobile is the main form of transportation I am purposing a shift to the bicycle.  Come on all you youngsters, hipsters, hippies, and Artists lets hop on that spectacle of a bike you call a fixie and peddle our asses to those farmers markets, art shows, and dive bars.  I mean really who do you think you are?  You blame the hypocrisy of the left and the right, the oil companies, a broken system, schools, teachers, the economy, America, you blame everyone but yourself… its time to take some accountability and wake up.

We can’t afford to be the trend patrons and retail consumers of this multi-planet lifestyle we have grown accustomed.  Start small and bike to the store, buy less stuff, and support your local communities, its not that hard you might even like it.
